Overcoming Perfectionism: We Don’t Have To Have It All

How often do we give up on something important to us just because we don’t have the ideal conditions?

Whether it is a lack of money or knowledge, the truth is our mind tends to misguide us into believing that without an “all-set” scenario, nothing can be done.

It’s called perfectionism – the most masochistic way to undermine our future while thinking we are helping ourselves.

But is it really possible to have it all in the early stages of an undertaking?

Do we need to have it all to thrive?

Or some level of unpreparedness and unawareness is always present in every human experience?

I wonder who we would be if we had never experienced lack, boredom, or frustrations of our desires…

Although I wish life could be easier and less painful sometimes, I can’t help but notice that all the hardships we go through have the potential to forge our character and equip us with the lessons and resources we need to move forward.

So, despite all the efforts from my controlling mind to convince me that I shouldn’t do this or that because I lack X, Y, or Z, I am finally learning to question such a rigid mindset with a more resilient and liberating alternative:

If I still don’t know, I can learn it

If I fall, I can get back on my feet

If I fail, I can try again in other ways

For there is no way for me to get lost forever or make a mistake impossible to overcome unless I choose to believe so.

Life renews itself at every sunrise, and so do we.

May we take advantage of this daily opportunity to create the reality that feeds our fulfillment, rather than our fear.
