From Chaos to Calm: My Journey Handling Anxiety

There was a time when I was allergic to strong emotions, both positive and negative.

Anything more intense would unsettle me right away.

My thoughts

would

race,

My mouth

would

feel

dry,

and I would live

trapped

in a

constant

state

of

alert

as

if

danger

lurked

just

around

the

corner.

On my worst days, I would spend almost all night awake, overwhelmed by anxiety and the fear of what could go wrong.

My nervous system was a complete mess.

The turning point came when I committed to daily meditation, in 2016.

Initially, I would skip days, but I soon noticed how much calmer and more focused I felt when I practiced.

So, I started meditating each morning as soon as I woke up.

In my early years, sitting in silence with my thoughts was unsettling because they were mostly fearful and judgmental.

How could someone think so many bad things per second?

No wonder I felt so out of balance…

I reached a point of annoyance where I could no longer accept living that way.

Meditation revealed to me the poor state of my inner world, and I began to heal this through journaling, positive inner dialogue, books, therapy, and courses.

After years of struggling and trying different ways to manage my symptoms, I am certain of one thing:

It was worth every penny and second spent on my healing journey!

All the resources I invested returned to me in the form of well-being, and renewed energy.

Besides, a new version of myself emerged: calmer, more centered, and in a much better mood!

Today, while I still experience anxiety, which is completely normal, it no longer controls me.

My mind was once caught in a whirlwind of chaos, fear, and drama, but now it is all about gravitating towards peace and healthier thoughts.

Even if I hit a rough patch filled with stress, I always seem to find my way back to balance by doing things that boost my well-being. For me, that looks like:

  • Meditating for a longer period
  • Spending a few hours soaking up nature
  • Taking some time for complete silence

🌸 I’m sharing this not to brag but to hopefully inspire you on your own journey.
