Bridging The Gap To Your Dreams

Often, we don’t pursue our dreams because they seem too far-fetched or because we doubt our abilities to achieve them.

I agree that the gap between our current situation and our ideal one can be disheartening and daunting.

But what if instead of a reason to give up, we viewed it as it is, just the early stage of something with tremendous growth potential?

Consider life on Earth:

  • All fully grown trees started as tiny seeds
  • All adults were once mere spermatozoa
  • All major enterprises began as small initiatives

In your case, it’s probably no different. Before turning a burning desire into reality, you need to bridge that gap.

It all starts with the mindset (thought precedes action)

Every creation, solution, or improvement began as a thought, which then led to action and realization. So, if you have a dream, the first step is to assess your relationship with it.

Depending on your mindset, you may be: an opposer, believer, or entrepreneur.

The opposer – your mind’s pessimism prevents you from taking action.

The believer – you daydream but don’t take concrete steps.

The entrepreneur – you think, feel, and act driven by your dream.

*If you see yourself as an entrepreneur, this post may not be of much help, but if you fall into the opposer or believer categories, keep reading.

Overcoming the Opposer Mind:

If your mind resists change or growth, you may be using these negative thoughts as a protection against disappointment. In other words, your fear of failure is speaking louder than your desire for a better life.

You can overcome it by consuming new information related to your dream.

For example, if your dream is to save $10,000 for a trip, you can educate yourself about finances through free online content, books from experts, or courses.

Fighting Negativity with Knowledge

Being regularly exposed to this finance content will make your mindset naturally grow into a better fit for your saving plans, and give you the chance to dissolve any prejudice or misconception about money.

Besides, as you progress in the studies, you will figure out other useful steps you should take, such as cutting expenses, opening an investor account, and making extra income.

Guiding the Believer Mind:

If you are a believer, you need to level up to an entrepreneurial mindset. This will allow you to use the same learning process mentioned before to overcome inertia and magical thinking.

Truly believing in your dream is an incredible source of motivation, but it should only be the beginning, not the end.

No matter how far you are from realizing your dream, there is always a solution, as long as you’re willing to make the necessary changes and pay the price of learning and growth.

I hope you find this information helpful.
