Inner Compass Gem #20 – Debunking Myths of Emotional Healing

🎯 Let’s be real—healing isn’t easy. And half the time, it’s not the pain that stops us.

It’s the fears, doubts, and outdated beliefs we’ve picked up along the way.

💖 If you’ve ever felt unsure about starting your emotional healing journey, you’re not alone.

💡 How about clearing up some of those myths to make your journey feel a little lighter?

THE MYTH ABOUT EMOTIONAL HEALING

“If I start feeling all this pain, I’ll fall apart.”

⚠️This fear keeps many people emotionally numb or distracted, afraid that once emotions are unleashed, they’ll be consumed by them.

The Truth (Somatic Psychology): Emotions are energy meant to move through the body.

  • When felt in a safe space, they naturally rise, peak, and subside.
  • Suppressing them creates chronic stress and low-grade suffering.

🧠 Shift Your Mindset: You won’t fall apart—you’ll finally let go. Emotional release isn’t a breakdown; it’s a breakthrough. Feeling your feelings is how you free yourself.

  1. This is a counterintuitive truth, but a truth nonetheless. A child who has scraped her knee is likely to be fearful of the wound being touched. But cleaning and bandaging the wound will help it heal. So it is w/ emotional wounds, also. ❤

    1. Exactly, Anna. Unhealed trauma is a thief of psychic energy, which is our driving force.

First, an emotional wound is essentially an accumulation of energy that is prevented from flowing because our defense mechanisms are designed to repress painful experiences from surfacing.

Second, the act of repression itself uses up a lot of psychic energy. This is why individuals who are deeply traumatized often experience symptoms such as apathy, depression, and mental fog—all of which indicate a lack of energy to engage in life.

Therefore, the only way to break this vicious cycle is to release the energy trapped by trauma through emotional healing.

I’ve been consciously working on this for over ten years, and honestly, I think it’s one of the most fascinating processes a person can go through. ❤❤

      1. I cannot say I believe in psychic energy. I do know that grief and regret at wounds inflicted in the past can consume us.

      2. It might sound too abstract if you haven’t studied it or experienced its effects firsthand, and that’s perfectly fine, Anna.

I’ve experienced the release of psychic energy after trauma healing so many times that, to me, it feels as concrete as the food I eat every day. You and your feedback…. I love it! Thank you! 🤗😘
