Healing Your Inner Child: What Not To Do (Inner Compass #24)

💔 True healing is about doing what feels safe, kind, and right.

🌱 Your Inner Child Doesn’t Need More Pressure — It Needs Your Presence

Healing your inner child is one of the most profound acts of self-love.

But it’s not always easy — especially when we unknowingly bring the same harshness, pressure, or emotional neglect into the healing process that once caused the original wounds.

Whether you’re just starting your healing journey or have been working on yourself for years, it’s important to remember that your inner child is not a project to fix — but a part of you to reconnect with.

Based on the work of Stefanie Stahl and other experts in inner child work and trauma recovery, this post explores what not to do when trying to heal your inner child — and how to approach this process with a nurturing balance of healthy mother and father energy.

  1. So right. Too many of us did not receive the nurturing we needed as children. We are well familiar w/ what we “should” do (even if the standards others set for us were far too high). We are harshly critical of ourselves, if we cannot manage to meet those standards. But treating ourselves w/ kindness allows us to breathe. That actually allows us to access our strength. ❤
